Roadshow series launches to empower KZN businesses

THE KwaZulu-Natal Growth Fund Agency (KZNGFA), in partnership with the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Nafcoc), is embarking on a series of roadshow events across KwaZulu-Natal starting tomorrow (11 September).

The roadshows will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs, business owners and other stakeholders to learn more about funding opportunities offered by the KZNGFA, as well as to engage directly with experts on how to access funding products that can help scale and sustain their businesses.

Xolani Nhlapo, chief investment officer at the KZNGFA, emphasised the importance of the initiative: “We are committed to ensuring that more businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, are aware of the funding opportunities available to them.

“These roadshows will not only guide applicants through the funding process but also encourage entrepreneurs to think bigger and explore how they can scale their businesses from SMME level to greater heights with the support of the KZNGFA.”

A senior representative from Nafcoc KZN welcomed the partnership, highlighting the role it will play in supporting the growth of businesses across the province. “This partnership brings real value to our members and the wider business community. By taking these roadshows to the districts, we are bringing information, guidance and opportunity closer to entrepreneurs who might otherwise not have access. It is about creating inclusive economic growth and empowering businesses to thrive,” said Enock Dladla, Nafcoc KZN deputy chairperson.

The first roadshow will kick off on 11 September 2025, with subsequent events scheduled across KwaZulu-Natal districts over the coming weeks and months. “On 18 September, we will be in Port Shepstone for a similar event,” said Nhlapo.

The KZNGFA is an unlisted entity of the KZN Department of Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) as provided for in the KZN Growth Fund Agency Act, Act No. 4 of 2024. It was initially set up in 2008 as a Trust initiative of the KZN Government’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT).
