Local supplier brings smarter solutions to SA’s electrical challenges to KITE 2025

WITH a mission to power up South Africa’s electrical industry through smart, affordable solutions, KwaZulu-Natal’s Trade Safe Electrical (TSE) is shaking up the market with the launch of its next-generation diagnostic test equipment and hydraulic tool range.

As the region battles aging infrastructure, frequent storms, and the rising demand for reliable energy, TSE is stepping in with a smarter, faster answer. The company says its recently-launched lineup of cable fault location systems and high-performance hydraulic tools promises to revolutionise how technicians detect, fix, and prevent electrical failures.

“Reliability isn’t optional anymore,” says Lichelle Govender, sales and marketing director at TSE. “Our customers need durable, precise, and mobile-ready systems that keep their networks alive and their teams safe.

“TSE’s new range does exactly that – designed to cut downtime, avoid unnecessary trench digging, and restore power faster than ever.”

At the heart of the launch is the TSE 1000, a game-changing, mobile-ready cable fault location system delivering up to 32 kilovolts and 2560 joules of energy. Engineered for rapid deployment from SUVs, it combines intelligent and expert diagnostic modes in one streamlined system, with wireless tablet control and advanced cable-end detection.

Govender says, “Skilled Technicians can now pinpoint faults in minutes, not days. “With the TSE 1000, restoring power — and preventing the next blackout – has never been simpler or safer.”

TSE is also amping up its offering with the TSE 240: a powerful, all-in-one hydraulic crimping and cutting tool built for the harshest environments in the mining, industrial, and construction sectors. Compact yet rugged, this tool delivers the muscle technicians need to get critical jobs done quickly and safely, anywhere.

“Our customers are working in demanding, high-pressure situations. They deserve tools that work just as hard as they do,” adds Govender.

As the demand for reliable infrastructure accelerates, TSE’s expanded product line is poised to help South Africa’s energy sector stay ahead. By investing in precision, portability, and cutting-edge safety, TSE is empowering technicians to protect the region’s essential services – and keep every community connected.

TSE goes beyond cable fault location equipment and hydraulic tools with a full portfolio of advanced testing, diagnostic, and safety solutions supplied across South Africa and beyond its’ borders.

From state-of-the-art acoustic and thermal imaging to high-voltage testing systems, intelligent cable identification, and precision sheath fault detection, TSE equips technicians with the technology they need to work faster, safer, and smarter — protecting vital networks and powering progress across South Africa.

Trade Safe Electrical will proudly showcase its innovative range of advanced diagnostic test equipment and hydraulic tools at the KwaZulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition (KITE), taking place from 22 to 24 July 2025 at the Durban Exhibition Centre, highlighting how its next-generation technologies are transforming the electrical landscape for greater safety and efficiency.
