MATERIALS handling solutions provider BHBW has delivered its first Yale forklift trucks in KwaZulu-Natal following the introduction of the brand into South Africa.
The Yale 3-ton internal combustion counterbalance trucks went to one of BHBW’s long-standing customers, a supplier to the motor industry, in the Prospecton area. The trucks, which were acquired on full maintenance lease, are being used both indoors and outdoors.
“Yale designs products to provide optimum front, rear and overhead visibility, helping to boost operator awareness and confidence, and enabling peak performance at height, in tight environments and elsewhere,” says Chappy Moodley, BHBW branch manager in KwaZulu-Natal.
“The customer’s decision to continue to partner with BHBW and choose the Yale product was based on continued excellent aftermarket service coupled with products that suited their operational requirements.”
The forklift trucks form part of the Yale UX series of lift trucks and warehouse equipment, which are designed to tackle rising operational costs while enhancing performance and operator comfort. “Robust, reliable and durable, the UX series is an ideal solution for customers who require straightforward load movements at a lower cost of ownership,” says Moodley.
The introduction of Yale lift trucks to the South African market followed BHBW’s appointment by Hyster-Yale Group as a dual Hyster and Yale dealer last year.
BHBW, which has more than 90 years of experience in the materials handling sector as a dealer for sister brand Hyster, now also offers the full line of Yale counterbalance forklift trucks and warehouse materials handling equipment to South African customers.
The full Yale line-up includes warehouse equipment ranging from small pallet trucks to very narrow aisle turret trucks, working up to 18.3 m high, electric, diesel, LP-gas and dual-fuel powered and internal combustion engine counterbalance lift trucks, with lifting capacities up to 16 tonnes, and customer-specific solutions.
Yale Lift Truck Technologies is a leading global materials handling brand, with equipment manufactured in 12 production facilities worldwide. The company was rebranded to Yale Lift Truck Technologies in 2023 to reflect its focus on providing technology-enabled solutions in warehousing and intralogistics in particular.
BHBW’s support to Yale customers includes materials handling consultancy, a choice between long- or short-term rental and outright purchase of equipment, financing solutions, customised fleet management solutions, and productivity-enhancing parts and service support.
“The addition of Yale to our line-up means that BHBW is now able to offer customers a choice between two great brands, complemented by industry-leading service and support solutions,” says Moodley.
