Peugeot Richards Bay walked away with the top honour in the Automotive Business of the Year category at the Business Excellence Awards presented by the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI) held at the Umfolozi Casino Convention Centre in Empangeni recently.
The ZCCI has a long history of presenting awards in this category, starting with its inaugural Business Person of the Year award in 1988 which has now evolved into a multi-category Business Excellence Awards gala evening.
This year, there were 50 nominations across all categories, including Small Business of the Year, Corporate Business of the Year and Emerging Business of the Year.
The judging panel consisted of five people from a variety of backgrounds including a safety, PR, SMMEs and business development.
This is the first time Peugeot Richards Bay has won in the Automotive Business of the Year category. Owner and Dealer Principal, Kenneth Hodgson said, “We are a team of individuals who are focused on and determined to help our customers buy a vehicle rather than sell them one. Customer delight is our main focus”.
He attributed their success to his team's belief in providing excellent service in both their parts division and workshop.
